I got a telephone call from Verne PENDLETON
who was a 91D40 in B Co. 15th MED, 1966 to ’68. A 91D M.O.S. was an
operating room specialist. Verne said that he took the extra- long
training for that after basic medical training at Ft. Sam Houston. When he
first got to Vietnam and the 1st Cav, he spent two weeks in the field as
a platoon Medic until assigned to B 15th MED.
B Co. 15th MED was the most mobile of the 15th MED companies, always on
the move when needed, while the other 15th MED companies stayed with
their brigade coverage until the big moves came. Verne mentioned being
in many locations that I’ve read, or heard about the 1st Cav Airmobile
operating; then mostly II Corps.
Verne said that he is very
interested in hearing from anyone with whom he may have served, and
Reunions. His phone contact is: (541)580-7123.
Webmaster/Past
President 2003-2006 15th Med Association Murray GIBBS, MEDEVAC ‘67-’ 68,
writes that they have finalized the 2012 Reunion with the Group Member Code
being sent to him. He has the 2012 Reunion Registration Form posted on
the Website and he will soon send it as an attachment to an e-mail.
